Solexant拟在Gresham新建太阳能工厂

    周二，加州Solexant执行长与州长Kulongoski一道在Gresham市正厅宣布计划新件太阳能制造工厂。
    该工厂明年投入生产，计划届时雇佣170名员工。但如果Solexant取得成功，这一数字将飙升至1000。
    Solexant这个创建四年的公司主要生产太阳能薄膜电池。该技术由Lawrence Berkeley国家实验室研发。该技术旨在提高效率和降低制造成本。
    Ted Kulongoski说：“今天宣布的事宜为我们如何以正确的政策、集体远见和协调把我们的新太阳能技术俄勒冈州树立了榜样。”
    目前，该工厂的建设从州里获得了2500万美元贷款。这是30年来俄勒冈州能源项目史上数额最大的一次贷款。
Gresham市议会投票通过决议：如果Solexant违约，市政府将偿还部分贷款。反之，Solexant已同意只在Gresham市扩张。

    Executives of a California start-up joined Governor Kulongoski at Gresham City Hall Tuesday, to announce plans to build a new solar manufacturing plant.
    The plant will employ 170 people when it starts production next year. But it could grow to 1,000 employees if Solexant is successful.
    The four-year-old company makes thin-film solar cells. The technology was developed at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. It’s expected to increase efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.
    Ted Kulongoski: "Today's announcement is an example of how, with the right policies, collective vision and coordination we can bring businesses like this company and their new solar technology to Oregon."
    The plant is being built with a $25 million loan from the state. It's the largest loan in the 30-year history of the Oregon Energy Program.
    Gresham City Council has voted to repay part of the loan if Solexant defaults. In turn, Solexant has agreed to expand only in Gresham.
